  April 24, 2014 - Tasted this at the winery last summer as I enjoyed the 2009 vintage of the wine. Opened one of our two bottles last night to pair with stuffed shells and meatballs in a marinara sauce.
  
  My 4/27/12 tasting note of the 2009 vintage just about matches this vintage as well with perhaps just a tad less earthiness. "Subtle nose of red berries, soft and silky on the palate, mostly fruit with just a hint of earthiness. A lighter body wine than what I consider a typical sangiovese with a fairly short finish; however, for the $20 purchase price, a very good bottle of wine."
