May 20, 2014 - Moderately bronzed color. Saturated cork. No longer carbonated. This had a very mature Chardonnay character with a bit of something else, so I assume there is Pinot Noir. Lovely and compelling, it did not suffer for lack of carbonation, nor did it decline over the few hours. Very complete and in no way over the hill. People at the party were coming back to revisit and bringing others for a taste. The bottle was manufactured in '78, so I assume the cuvee number means it was bottled in '79.
