Community Tasting Note

July 8, 2014 - Same smoky root beer nose as the last bottle. My wife tells me the root beer thing is sassafras but I'm thinking A&W. Good cherry and raspberry flavored fruit with a tart finish. Great balance.

I read that you are opening several bottles of this wine in the last months. Do you plan to hold some for future tasting and what are your expectation on the evolution over time ? Did you had previous experience with older vintage ?

7/11/14, 6:55 AM - My experience with Oregon Pinot Noir is not extensive and I am sure it is different for every wine. But in general I have found that the best can improve for up to 7 or 8 years. And in a few cases they can become almost ethereal. They then begin to decline.

I enjoy Pinot Noir from Oregon greatly but believe that very little of it available in my market would improve significantly with extended time. So I drink them relatively young. My guess is that the 2010 Evening Land fits in this later category.
