September 19, 2014 - Chicago: wine, food, friends...cigars!; 9/17/2014-9/20/2014 (Blackbird, Les Nomades, Naha, with lunch at Shaw's Crab House): {en magnum} Probably a decade away from being interesting (for my palate, anyway), but no denying it's a delicious drop. Full(-) body, this hits a few high tone fruit notes as well as some leather, cream, . The fact that the grapes for this bottling (and the Torre) come in last is pretty evident; the same for the fining with egg whites - it's texturally noticeable, rendering this a little too linear for me right now. 80% Tempranillo, with the balance Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano. It's aged for one year in large oak followed by 3 years in new French oak and 3 years in bottle prior to release. Enjoyable, delicious, but not yet interesting.

    Served non-blind.

The fact is quite simple. For this vintage it isn't ready yet...
Let's wait at least nive years more for complexity :-)
    Cheers!
