Claw Dee Puss Likes this wine: 89 points
September 27, 2014 - A deep, full wine still youthful after 24 years - cherries with the odd blackcurrant.

9/30/14, 10:46 AM - I bought a pair of these (it was a "buy one, get one free" situation) 18 months ago from my local Garrrafeira in Portalegre (their web site is here, but it's pretty broken - http://www.garrafeiradomjulio.com ). I was writing them an email when your comment came in - I'll ask if they still have any in stock.

Maybe this calls for a trip out to Portalegre to investigate? -

10/2/14, 9:23 AM - If you do find yourself in Portalegre, you can do a lot worse than to have lunch or dinner at "A Gruta" (closed Thursdays) - TripAdvisor has the details and a couple of pics. A very unassuming entrance-way opens, Tardis-like, to a decent-sized restaurant where, as well as very good food, they have the most amazing selection of wines. Their list is out of date so it's a "point and shoot" situation - you pick a bottle from the 100s on view and the wife of the chef (waitress) shouts out to the chef (owner) who says how much it is.
