  October 24, 2014 - Aromas of dark cherries, blackberries and sweet tobacco. Dark fruit flavors show on the palate, blackberry, plum, cherries. As the wine finishes it turns almost a bit tart or sour, leading into pomegranate and grapefruit. Earlier I detected a savory note on the finish, a couple hours after opening I'm not getting it as much. The fruit definitely dominates the palate now, it had a light meaty component closer to opening. J says there is a bit too much acidity and heat on the wine now. I don't get that as much but it definitely seems like a 2012 wine in flavor and intensity. 89+
