  October 25, 2014 - While there was nothing technically wrong with this, it did come across as thin, almost shrill. It lacked excitement/expressiveness on the nose and palate, even after 10 hours in decanter. A poor cork/seal. Or...the wine exploded and blossomed on day 2 or 3, which is not out of the question, either. Too bad, this is quite the wine when it's on.
  
  note: this followed the 2000 Opus One and fell way, way short of it, so obviously an off bottle.
