November 3, 2014 - Familienweingut Benzinger private tasting (Campus Kronberg): I was really fascinated by this one. I usually do not care too much about Pinot Blanc. But the way this one was made really caught my attention.

13% vol., some months (don't know exactly) in barriques, 14€/19USD in Germany, available at the winery's online shop only.
Light golden yellow with bright rims, slow legs. Intense ripe yellow pear and citrus on the nose, sweet, nuts, vanilla, some herbs and subtle oak, superb (12.5/15). The palate is creamy, soft, has ripe yellow fruits, some medium(-) acidity and vanilla (12/15). The body is full for a white, the balance is super for me, some might miss a little more acidity (7.5/10). The finish is very long and creamy, vanilla and pear again. (8/10).
12.5+12+7.5+8(+50) = 90/100 - Overall an excellent Pinot Blanc, I loved it. 'White wine for men', one female guest said about this wine. Pair with seafood.
