I really like young Chateauneuf du Pape. Most Grenache based wines for me never really shut down. For me, they do not go through a closed period like Bordeaux. That is one of the charms of the region. Also, you noted, this is not a pricey wine. I hope you pop a bottle and let me know your thoughts...
