Community Tasting Note

  • Aravind Asok Likes this wine:

December 20, 2014 - Decanted and left in the decanter for about 1hr. Fantastic Cote-Rotie. Deep red to purple. Alluring nose that started out a little lighter with notes of wild strawberries, thyme, pine needles, earth, some floral notes and then slowly gained depth adding some olive tapenade, spices and meaty notes. On the palate this is silky smooth starting in a dark direction and moving toward bright high toned acidity that resolves into a tart/mouth-coating tannic finish (which is the only place I detect the 50% new oak this wine sees). Fairly long finish. Beautiful, elegant wine that is drinking very well right now.. Wonderfully complex nose that evolved. It paired perfectly with chicken slow cooked with olives and onions. What more can you ask for?
