January 16, 2015 - This was the wine I took home from the tasting room after tasting through a wide range of eclectic wines from KV. In the glass at home, it did not disappoint. Translucent ruby in appearance (similar to a darker pinot noir), with an intriguing nose of strawberries, cherries and toasted nuts. Oddly, the wine had no strong impression of oak on the nose, yet it was very oaky on the back-palate (which I didn't mind). It tastes nothing like cabernet sauvignon but more like...I dunno...a cross between pinot noir and a peppery zinfandel(?). I'd buy it again for its uniqueness. Not a bad value either.
