  February 10, 2015 - this has a lot in common with the 1999 Pingus. There is a powerful, rich, unctuous nose that has a scent I cannot quite identify other than to say Crayola box, creme cassis, blueberry liquor. Lot's of concentration here, high alcohol. The color is deep, dark, opaque red. On the palate this is a bit chewy and opulent. I find some dark chocolate and blueberry syrup. This is a rich napa cab with a lot to recommend itself. I personally prefer more acidity in my red wines, but this is more a question of style and varietal than quality.
