Community Tasting Note

  • Border Boss Likes this wine: 88 points

February 19, 2015 - Decanted six hours before service. This bottle was much more advanced than I expected from this wine. Light-to-medium brink red. The nose is showing cherries, as is the palate. Very little alcohol heat. The wine is medium sweet with a bit of a dry finish (not as much as typical Dow). This bottle was definitely fully mature. I have seven others and if the next one is like this, they should be drunk in the next 5 years.

2/21/15, 9:05 PM - Check out the thread on For The Love Of Port.com. Apparently there's some sort of known bottle variation with this wine. Some have seen it great, and also bottles similar to mine.

2/22/15, 8:08 AM - I need to hang out at FLTOP more. I guess I got the bad lot, more's the pity. I would love to taste the "good" version. Thanks for pointing out the thread on the other board.
