March 7, 2015 - PnP to start birthday dinner. Went great with first courses of Salad, Scallops and steak tar tar. Wife really liked this and isn't usually a Pinot fan, so that tells you it isn't the typical Oregon Pinot I buy (price says so too). Less strawberry and more syrah like, cherry, pepper, spice flavors w/ a floral nose. Will be looking for more Keefer Ranch wines in the future.

3/9/15, 7:38 PM - You do know that Kosta Browne is a California Russian River/Sonoma Coast Pinot, right. Definitely not an Oregon Pinot. KB has won wine of the year on 2 occasions and IMHO can compete with some of the best Cabs in the world.

    Really glad you enjoyed it.

3/9/15, 7:54 PM - Thanks krhaugh, sorry for the confusion. I was just trying to highlight how stylistically different this Russian River Pinot was from the Oregon Pinots I normally buy, not saying that the Russian River is in Oregon.

3/9/15, 8:07 PM - Excellent. I read it wrong. You are correct on the difference. Try some Williams Selyem or Sea Smoke some time to compare with the KB. As for some different Oregon Pinot's, if you happen to come along some Bethel Heights or Cristom (Eola Hills area near Salem), they are much earthier and closer to the Cali's. Enjoy!
