March 13, 2015 - This wine was double-decanted, initially through Vinturi, followed by three hours in decanter prior to funneling back into the cleaned bottle. It was then presented in double-blind fashion to our Friday tasting group. My taste was unblinded. Medium-to-deep garnet in color, it continues to show excellent depth, complexity and ripeness. Kirsch, blood orange, mulling spice, sage and garrigue aromas precede a fresh, full-bodied, silky-textured palate with comparable flavors. The tannins are soft and the alcohol (listed as 14%) is nicely integrated. Very long on the finish, this is a wine which is in its sweet spot. It should last longer than I previously predicted. Drink now-2020.
