May 20, 2015 - I haven't opened one of these in over four years. Nearly opaque purple with a garnet rim. Nose of leather, dark fruit, smoke and vanilla. Ripe, full palate of blackberry, black cherry, plum, prune, black licorice, and vanilla. Excellent length. Nice acidity. Silky texture. The high alcohol is barely noticeable. The oak has mostly integrated. The sweet tannins have lost some grip over time. This is tasty wine, if a bit heavily extracted for some tastes. I doubt it will get much better with more cellar time. But I guess I'll find out.
