June 15, 2015 - Fairly dark red/purple with orange beginning to show at the edge. A big nose of black fruits and eucalyptus. The palate is still fairly young but with air it opens dramatically, there's the black cherry, lots of eucalyptus (causing one non-Nebbiolo fan to equate it to cherry cough drops), spice, and mineral. As it opened, the fruit sweetened and there was a hint of orange peel and brown sugar, though it was buried beneath the other flavors and still potent tannins at this point. Still, this is entering an early stage of maturity, not the most complex Barolo but I disagree with those who say it's monolithic.
