7/12/15, 7:03 PM - Any decanting notes? Asking since you gave it a 92 and have another on reserve. I just bought two bottles, looking for any tips I can get, stoked about trying this wine.

7/13/15, 2:40 PM - This was the second bottle I opened of six bottles. We didn't decant as it was at a CdP tasting where many bottles were opened. I don't think a decant of a couple hours would be amiss but it is approachable without a lot of airing. Here is my partial note on the bottle opened in 2014: "14.5% abv. This is the first one opened from a box of six that I bid on at a charity auction at the Charlotte Wine and Food Weekend a few years ago. The box was temporarily "lost" and then relocated. .
Some viscosity. The nose suggests dark ripe fruits and Provencal herbs. On the palate I found blackberry and raspberry in a full-bodied wine with a lengthy finish. I don't find it appallingly overripe (as some do) but it likely was an atypical, riper grapes than usual, vintage for Chateauneuf du Pape. I enjoyed it this summer (2014) and suspect I will like it even more in a few years."
