July 14, 2015 - An easy 90 pts., this 2nd tier from Chateau Monbousquet is on par with other right bank, grand cru classé wines of the great '09 vintage from Saint-Emilion. My overall impression matches that of FAT LIPS (March 30, 2015), minus the bacon. I truly enjoyed this and found it to be a dense, complex, sensual and delicious blend of 60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, in a very nice drinking window. I thought it considerably more balanced than JOE THE CRITIC did, albeit, a couple years later. Pity, Angelique de Monbousquet is no longer being made. Evidently she is now blended into Esprit de Pavie. (Part of the Chateau was sold in February, 2013.) 14.0% abv. QPR+ Drink now.
