July 14, 2015 - Tuesday Night Double Blind <$40 (Bin 75): Opaque core with red rim; oak, black pepper, plush, smoky; strong oak, new French/American, dark fruit, currant, tobacco, menthol, ashy, slight jamminess, prune, bitterness on the finish; was on Ribera until I impulsively called modern St. Emilion, Toro makes sense; give this time.

7/20/15, 4:51 PM - Thanks for the note. We sipped a bottle last month at home. Breathed in the bottle for 2+ hours before sipping. Dark purple cheery cherries and a bit of smoke and spice on the nose. Fresh, ripe red fruits and subtle, but sufficient, tannins. Medium-bodied, think opposite of Meghan Trainor - enough about the bass, mostly treble. Silky, elegant, fairly long finish. Great value wine!!!
