July 27, 2015 - Good cork pull but about 3/4 infiltrated but not degraded. Legs ran fast and fat. 1st day the wine was subdued, muted, and not giving up much but the true pinot noir grape flavor. Was soft and easy to drink and a bit bitter on the finish. very transparent and no one aspect overshadowed another. Day two, this was a different animal. Really nice fruit came forward, brighter acid too. Cherry perhaps? Finish lasted about a minute. Still soft but flavor on fully half of tongue, front half mostly. Th faintest remnant of drying tannins present. Fruit not overwhelming like American pinot but very balanced. This 2005 took a good day to show itself. I don't know how to predict further aging. Taking a full day to reveal the potential seems to indicate there is life left but this is a softer style of wine, very pretty actually. I liked the fact that day 1 the raw pinot grape profile was showing, then evolved into nice easy going fruit. I would buy this again and plan on drinking this in stages.
