  August 7, 2015 - Splash decanted without extended aeration, but this was ready to go from the start. Explosive nose. So much more delicate than the 89 Montrose that was opened alongside it. Whereas the Montrose was brash and spicy, the Angelus possessed far more red fruit and chocolate character.
  
  I thought for sure this would win WOTN, but the Montrose is just a workhorse that needed time to shine. The 89 Angelus is ready to drink now and while it will age gracefully for another 10-15 years, I don't see it getting much better than this. 94 points
