August 10, 2015 - Disgorged 12/2011. Clear straw color with faint green tint and persistent fine bead. Initial whiff of yeasty bread dough and matchstick blew off to reveal a fine bouquet of apple and Meyer lemon. With air and warming a bit, hints of white flowers, almonds and chalk appeared, with a bit of nougat after another hour. Similar on the palate, crisp and pure, delicious. Group's THIRD PLACE tonight.

10/20/15, 5:09 AM - Third place. May I ask how many wines were lined up?

10/20/15, 5:21 AM - 11 wines were included in the voting that night, mix of red, white, and champagne. Second place went to 2002 Dom Ruinart Champagne Blanc de Blancs, though I actually preferred the Bollinger to the Ruinart. First place went to 1991 Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon.
