  August 18, 2015 - I immediately detected the woodsy aroma and picked up a slightly signed (like burning embers) quality on the nose. It's like opening up a cigarette box and smelling the dehydrated fibers of crushed Fall leaves. On the palate, the tannins are gripping, but in a pleasant way. It's an expressive, aggressive wine in that it shows a lot of spice, smoke and leathery notes. I would enjoy this in a bistro with live jazz playing softly in the background and wearing my special-occasion dress, ruby red lipstick and vintage gold jewelry. It's a fancy wine that just makes me feel elegant because the wine itself is sophisticated and quite special.
