August 19, 2015 - The nose is full of dark cherry, flowers, and vanilla oak, gorgeous. The palate is the same but has waves of smooth black cherry fruit and a great mineral streak with excellent tannins throughout. It's a few years from prime drinking but is delicious now. I was surprised at the oak level but it's very high quality and is in proportion to the rest of the wine. Really remarkably good for a 2005 Brunello if you can tolerate some oak, I am anxious to try this when it approaches maturity.
