  September 28, 2015 - Quite pale red. Nose is rather simple and red fruited. Afraid we could not find the smorgasbord of flavours of reviewers below. It is not too 2003 over-ripe though quite sweet. The finish is very Loire cab franc, slightly green and mushroomy.
  It's a pleasant wine, but no more. I have had a lot of lesser grand cru 2003 Bordeuax (not my favourite wine or vintage) that is better and good Chinon 2003 also.
  Sadly, Loire reds used to be good value, but Clos R has now become as bad value as much of Burgundy and Bordeaux.
  This was a ncie wine worth about a quarter of its current retail price...
