Community Tasting Note

  • Francois Le Mouel Does not like this wine: 89 points

October 7, 2015 - An good white, mineral, good acidity and medium+ lenght...unfortunately, not worth the price we paid at the restaurant ($250)...you can find the same quality for $30.

2/5/16, 6:31 AM - Dear Francois, I think you were robbed since this wine costs 50€ in a wine store.

2/5/16, 9:18 AM - I know I was robbed! Unfortunately where I live (Quebec, Canada), you can't have a Grand-Echezeaux at 50 Euros :)...in a store the cost will be between $CDN250-300

2/5/16, 9:20 AM - Sorry Polskiman, I thought you were talking about another wine...I got robbed twice in restaurants in 2015 :)

You're correct, this white is the equivalent of 50 Euros in our stores as well...but it's not worth the price!

2/5/16, 11:20 AM - I agree with you that this wine is far to expensive. The fact is that Douro wines are very expensive to produce and this producer uses only traditional methods, that turn low yields.
Should you need some advice on Portuguese white or red wines (or even Port), I'm glad to assist you.
