Community Tasting Note

October 22, 2015 - Yummy stuff, very much a masculine wine. This wine has that aged La Rioja funk on nose and palate that we love; giving this wine a bit of gaminess that went great with our charcoal grilled duck breast. Still has youthful fruit of ripe creamy black raspberry that play nicely with raspberry honey glaze on the duck breast. The black pepper, cedar and tool belt leather mid-palate melded with harmonic precision into a light tannic lengthy finish that carries the sweetness of the fruit.

10/29/15, 7:21 AM - Nice tasting note, I love the tool belt leather comparison. How do you think this wine will drink in the coming years? Can you see a peak window?

10/29/15, 10:50 AM - I think this wine has entered into its peak window and should continue to drink well over the next 10 years. It was in a near perfect spot to pair with our grilled duck breast with the raspberry honey glaze, but would give it a few more years with a different pairing. Hope that helps.
