November 11, 2015 - Notes after 6 hours open in bottle. Dark, inky ruby color with very slow and lightly stained legs. Heavy amount of sediment.
I like the floral aspect of the aroma, which only appeared after a few hours of air. There were early green pepper notes that faded away with time in the glass. The mouthfeel is smooth and full, holding firm with some grainy tannins. The fruit still seems a bit compacted but even if it stretches out in future, I'm not sure there will be enough material, long term, to give it a higher score. The breadth of the blend is expressed in a moderately complex profile, though it would need richer density to hit the excellent mark, imb. But at this price it delivers in fine fashion. I thought the alcohol was nicely in check so I was surprised to see 14.5% listed on the label. I think they might have overpaid their taxes ;) 4+12+16+8= 90

11/12/15, 7:28 AM - Good note, thank you. I've found both the 2009 Cuvee Anonyme and Xavier CdP need plenty of air before they start to come alive. Both have had quite a bit of sediment as well.
