November 14, 2015 - Starbright medium ruby color, nearly opaque at the center all the way to colorless at the edge; medium viscosity. Nose of plummy red fruit, muted cranberry tones, forest floor, cigar box/cedar, and a high menthol note. On the palate there's plum, black cherries, and earth, with decently-integrated medium tannins, well-balanced acid; plush in texture. Perhaps not especially distinctive or complex, but a solid and pleasurable bottle with a sense of place, excellent typicity, and will work well with a range of food (and not costing an arm and a leg). A nice example of what's great about everyday Bordeaux.
