Community Tasting Note

  • canefan Does not like this wine: 70 points

December 22, 2015 - The worst Barolo I've ever drank. Hints of rubber balloon followed by an alcoholic aftertaste that is only mirrored by a fine Australian wine with a kangaroo on the label. I don't know who they paid off to get a 94 ranking. Folks, unfortunately, you CAN'T buy a Barolo for under $35. If you think you can, you are only fooling yourself.

12/22/15, 11:20 PM - I've had this several times, and you clearly had an off bottle. I would suggest focusing on your own shortcomings as a taster, rather than making accusations of bribery.

12/22/15, 11:37 PM - So the other 138 tastingnotes, giving this wine an average rating of 89,2, are also written by people who have been bribed?

Personally I had this wine on at least three occasions. For its level and pricepoint it performed very well.

12/23/15, 10:39 AM - I've had several bottles of this wine and routinely drink Nebbiolo, including Barolo. First, this wine is not close-to-ready to drink. It was open initially and has since closed down. Second, the flavors you describe indicate a flaw in your particular bottle. You'd know that if you were an experienced taster. Third, there are several other Barolo options at this price point that are also quite good. Your broad statement indicates either a lack of experience or poor taste, or both.
