January 14, 2016 - Very pretty (quality sweet oak imparted) bouquet for a Moulis-en-Médoc offering, which are typically quite rustic and earthy. Smooth and polished, arguably excessively so, yet still highly enjoyable. Time will reveal whether this wine sheds is fluff and reveals its rustic core or retains is modernly styled polish. Glad to have another bottle. In this vintage, I prefer Chateau Poujeaux. 90-92.

10/25/16, 5:02 PM - I'm having trouble finding this one...where did you buy yours?

10/25/16, 6:51 PM - Wineotim; I do not remember. It may have been an outfit in California or more likely the Olympia, WA outfit, GVWM. Whatever the case, I do not plan on doing business with the latter outfit so long as the recently installed manager remains in that capacity. GVWM was a first rate outfit before he took over.

Also, given the Chasse-Spleen price on Wine Searcher pro (I just looked it up), as compared to the same vintage Poujeaux (also just looked up), a much more impressive wine in this vintage, and a benchmark wine for 2010 vintage Bordeaux IMO (that is saying something given that I typically prefer the C-S), I would buy all the Poujeaux I could afford, at 1/3 less or less the cost of the C-S.

I just looked at the notes for the Poujeaux (I have a serious affinity for (muddy, earthy, gritty) Moulis-en-Medoc terroir), and it appears that you have not tasted that wine. If not, buy the Poujeaux...twice...or more, over the C-S! It is that good!
