January 24, 2016 - Very challenging wine to score. No 04 green but the wine is very tannic and dry -- such that the tannins are outstripping the fruit. And yet there are aspects of this that are attractive. The nose is very lovely mix of fruit and iron and earth. And the palate, while structured, shows pretty dark fruit and earth. Moderately enjoyable with food. Not good on day 2 when the structure is even more surly. I don't think this will amount to much but I do wonder whether this will emerge in a couple decades time.
