January 25, 2016 - Just starting to open up, but really no rush.
A heady nose, dark, full of bramble, blackberry bush, spices, cola.
A certain rooty freshness to it, definitely with a wild side to it.
Tasted blind, a first guess was almost correct, and then most tasters actually thought this wasn't French.
Has a lot of poise and is clearly more on the "hunting wine" side (think Méo-Camuzet) than on the fruity, signing side.
Worth keeping another few years to let it come into its own, or decant a couple of hours ahead.
