February 25, 2016 - Medium garnet-red color, pale-edged. Oaky nose, with ripe dusty plum fruit.; leather. On arrival, medium-low tannin and medium-low acidity. In the mouth, a spicy oak veneer over raspberries, plum wine, peppered beef jerky. Sturdy finish, drying with lots of smooth oak and a little acidic zip on the end; black pepper abounds in my emptied glass. An unusual style for modern pinot noir, and not something I typically admire stylistically, but I do like this bottle. I want to think it's akin to admiring how a fat man might move unusually well for his size. Bottle #2 of two.
