March 19, 2016 - Very dark hence the name. Lots of fruit. Few more years before I get to his friends.

4/19/16, 4:44 PM - You seem like a man who know his Kobalt wines. I'm guessing you haven't had the 2013 yet? I love Mark Herold's namesake wines (especially the 2013s) and have zero experience with Kobalt. I tried Kamen (another Herold wine) and was pretty underwhelmed. I'm hoping Kobalt is akin to the namesake Herold wines. I was just wondering if you had any additional thoughts on the Kobalt wines. Thanks for the note!

4/20/16, 10:11 AM - I got a Kobalt 2010 I think in an odd lot at an auction and liked it so I ordered the others. That's the only other one that I have had. Sorry I can't be of more help but I will keep trying them!

5/1/16, 11:46 AM - FYI Just as a follow-up to our previous exchange regarding Kobalt... I just happened to pop the cork on a 2013 Kobalt Cabernet and it is pretty fantastic. Rich, opulent, thick...did I mention rich?! Very dark and dense. I'm a fan of this style, so it is definitely worth picking up a couple if you like big Cabernets. It is fashioned in true Mark Herold style.
