April 19, 2016 - Hdr Closing Tasting: These are always going to be controversial. Something I learned is that the Marquis Philips wines of 01 thru 04 used the same vineyards that Mollydooker uses starting in 05. That make sense but I did not know that. The 14 is what you would expect. Big and fruity. Lots of black raspberries. Juicy and delicious. Nothing coy here. If you love this style, this is another one.

4/21/19, 10:19 PM - Nice. I only have one so i'll wait 7+ years before opening it.

8/7/21, 9:20 PM - I loved those early Marquis Philips wines. Up until about 2019 I would find them scattered in wine stores across NYC and snap them up. The older Sarah and Sparky wines lasted a lot longer than anyone might imagine. The 2001 Marquis Philips was possibly the nicest red wine I have ever tasted.

Carnival of Love is great. The only negative is that when I open a bottle it always disappears much faster than I expect. I know it might be better the second day but very rarely get the chance to see.
