  April 25, 2016 - 87-88 WSET Tasting practice at home. not my usual format.
  
  the wine is clear with a medium+ ruby core leading to pale ruby with a white rim. fast moving legs and tears. no other observations.
  
  the nose is medium intensity with youthful aromas of strawberry, raspberry and red currant fruit. medium intensity aromas of sweet spices and spring flowers and new, possibly american oak. think vanilla, coconut, allspice.
  
  the wine is dry with a medium acidity and medium- tannins. the alcahol is medium but still integrating. the wine is fruit forward with red berry primary notes and matches the nose. the texture is juicy and supple and shows a modest oak presence. the wine is developed but with potential for short term aging. the wine is medium priced.
  
  overall, this is a solid crianza in a crowd pleasing style. not overripe or extracted but still plenty of fruit and oak. drink now-2018
