  June 20, 2016 - Opened for father's day. Did not decant, but opened about 2 hours before serving. Very nice Cabernet entering its drinking window. Intense cassis with moderate tannins still largely hidden by the fruit, lengthy finish. Served with duck breast and new potatoes confit and the Montelena was a an excellent match with the balanced acidity and tannin to balance the fat in the duck. This wine will be even better in a couple of years and should have a long life.
