January 4, 2008 - This is a very distinctive wine. The color and nose are typical Shiraz but what hits the palate is so unique that the wine can be picked out in a blind tasting 6 months after you had it the last time. The uniqueness comes from a sharp sour component that is VERY bright on the palate...almost a sour apple type flavor and sharpness. This is greatly increased when the wine is served below room temp. The wine's flavors are very nicely integrated and outstanding. Finish is long and pleasurable. If you are looking for a classic Shiraz this is not it. If you are looking for a Cht Du Pape influenced Rhone Shiraz than this wine may work.
