  July 14, 2016 - Dense purple w ruby red highlights, medium viscosity. Nose: red plum, blueberry, forest floor, leather, eucalyptus notes (is this last what other commentators took for anise? I don't get that). Palate: plum, dark cherry, balanced by a bold hit of acid, smokiness emerging over the long finish; fine tannins. Young, juicy, and informal though not simple or one-dimensional; perfect for a cool summer night.
