August 11, 2016 - Ljus. Ganska svag mousse. Oväntat smaklös och med tunn eftersmak.

11/20/16, 3:22 PM - Your reviews are misleading and hard to take seriously, since your score always fluctuate between 65-96 points.

11/20/16, 10:01 PM - And what's wrong with that if I may ask?

11/21/16, 5:50 AM - Please learn the Cellar Tracker or Wine Spectator grading system. You don't grade a "fully drinkable" non vtg champagne 65pts, neither do you grade a good up to excellent vintage champagne 75 pts for having a somewhat "less mousse" than a non vtg. If you suspect you had a flawed bottle than write it. Our reviews are supposed to help others evaluate the quality by looking at the average rating, but if 1 person repeat to give 15-20 points below others than you get a false picture. There are many champagne wines that are not everybodys style, but you don't downrate them simply because of that unless they're really bad or flawed. Keep drinking champagne, but look into the rating system better.

11/21/16, 10:36 AM - I will certainly have a look. Thank you for the pointer. But for your information a certain Richard Juhlin has graded several fully drinkable champagnes at 40/100 in his book "En doft av champagne" (ISBN: 9789174243086). For example Charles Lafitte Demi-Sec NV at page 288.

Update: I have had a look and still maintain my grade (possibly adjust it 5 points, but I would want to try the wine again in order to do so).

    95-100 Classic: a great wine
90-94 Outstanding: a wine of superior character and style
85-89 Very good: a wine with special qualities
    80-84 Good: a solid, well-made wine
75-79 Mediocre: a drinkable wine that may have minor flaws
    50-74 Not recommended

I (unconsciously) compare the champagnes with other wines in the same category (sparkling wines) but really using the absolute scale mentioned above. I have not, as you put it, graded a wine 10 points above another merely because of the mousse. That is your interpretation. If I have rated it low it is because I have felt a distracting, unpleasant taste or similar. This is of course very subjective. Others would maybe not experience it the same way and raise the grade based on other qualities but for me a, in my mind, basic flaw made it hard to enjoy the wine as I would a simpler wine without the flaw. So yes, maybe my taste is very different from others. But I still follow the same grading system and if any other user has a similar taste he/she would look more specifically into my grading and disregard the average. Also, with enough votes, the average would not be affected by one persons opinion.
