September 2, 2016 - Decanted and followed over 3-4hrs. More understated and closed than expected as many '12's are wide open. Mild, red fruited nose with a little flint. Red and blue fruit palate, fine and acidic. Stately. Finish has plenty of polished tannin and red fruit in reserve. Adds just a hint of vanilla on the back end. A nicely put together rather sophisticated if aristocratic Napa cab. Needs a few years to open up, but don't expect the massive concentrated lush fruit here. I wish more Napa cab was in this style. 91-92+

Didn't really open up on night 2. Still quite tight. Hold.

9/4/16, 9:42 PM - Great review and thanks for sharing! I share the same feelings, but I've found that both Christian Moueix wines (Napanook and Dominus) to be the most old world I've ever tasted to come out of Napa, and he doesn't hide from it.

9/5/16, 4:15 AM - Agree 100%. I was hoping this would be more open given the '12 vintage. Nope. Didn't move much on night 2 either.
