September 8, 2016 - This wine is just getting started, but boy, am I happy, that I still have a few more safely stored away. Served chilled and after some aeration and having warmed up a bit, this wine simply didn't stop singing!
Absolutely fabulous nose of ripe heart cherries, plum juice, sweetly dark fruits, rose petals, tar, sous bois, leather, dried tobacco leaves, truffles and an ethereal aroma which always reminds me of aged aceto balsamico. These aromas seem to be constantly shifting and alternating, with the scent of sweetly spices accompanying them the entire time.

The wine possesses fresh and vibrant acidity, as well as velvety yet notable tannins. Full-bodied and refined, with well-integrated alcohol at 14.5% abv and likewise well-integrated wood. A very complex and multi-layered wine. Still, a little on the brooding side. Plum juice, sweetly spices, leather, an earthiness and dark cherries from Basel. Immensely long finish, that just doesn't want to end. This wine was made to endure time and should continue to delight humanity for another two decades.

9/26/16, 8:41 AM - Thanks, and you're very much welcome! I was really curious, and lucky for me, that the cat didn't get killed this time, but you should definitely hold back any bottles you have - this wine will be much more rewarding after 2019+
