Community Tasting Note

October 4, 2016 - Coming back to this after a dissapoiting first tasting. Bottles bought from Garagiste offering a few years back

Prior notes:" Medium to light ruby color. Nose is all herbs and spice - interesting but not giving any fruit or complexity. Palate is sour cherry, tart plum, rhubarb. The lavender is there through the finish."

It lost (from memory) some of the greener notes I recalled in the last bottle. I was hoping the wine would add some weight and complexity with bottle age, which it did not. Flavor profile is slightly better but still not as descibed. I have had wines from this vintner from later vintages which were good, maybe its the vintage or wine going through a closed phase...TBD, will try again

10/5/16, 7:02 PM - Thanks for the note. I am a longtime collector or Mo's wines, and see this purchase of Mitchell fruit as a one-off. It was clearly the worst fruit of an already challenging vintage. I hope he won't do that again.

Also, I recall a note from you from the Willamette barrel auction. You going again in 2017? Always nice to meet fellow CTers who drink similar profiles.
