October 11, 2016 - Way too young! Grippy tannins dominate the palate. Lots of potential here. I'm rearranging the placement in the cellar for the remaining bottles. They're getting buried into the section 5-8 years from now. Whew, this will be marvelous when Chelsea Clinton is president...;-)

10/17/16, 4:39 PM - La Sophia takes a lot of time to be ready to drink. I tasted the 2010 in 2011 and told myself that it would be ready in 2020...I haven't touched a bottle of La Sophia since then; I have some 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013...can't wait to taste them at peak. LOTS of potential here.

10/18/16, 1:31 PM - Merci Francois! Its good to know that we can actually produce substantial, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon here in BC. Have you had any other BC Cabs or Cab blends that have this level of potential? I must say we were impressed with a Church & State '07 Quintessential earlier this year. We have one more bottle of that in the cellar.

10/18/16, 2:58 PM - I've never tasted one as grippy as La Sophia :) For other age worthy cabs or cab-blends, I would go with Laughing Stock Portfolio, Painted Rock Icon Red, Fairview Iconoclast, Black Hills Nota Bene, Orofino Cabernet (Scout Vineyard and Passion Pit), Poplar Grove Legacy. You can look at my tasting notes, I have many from BC...the great thing with Okanagan wines is that you can enjoy them at 2 years old or at 10, for the one that are cellar worthy.
