    January 23, 2008 - pop and pour:

    colour: dark purple crimson

on the nose: dusty cedar, blueberry, black cherry. after a couple of swirls, I get some game. Freshly dead game with blueberries and cherries, in an old dry cedar forest. Sprinkled with dried sage.

on the palate: nice weight and mouthfeel to this one. starts all blueberry and dark cherry, then turns distinctly jammy. Dark cherry preserve on the finish, little hollow in the mid palate, pepper, blackberry and then dark chocolate fruity/chalky ending

after 45 mins decanted: the dust and cedar has turned to sage and old leather. there is a lot more fruit on the nose - blackberry, dark cherry, and still some blueberry. This is still nice and weighty and silky. I really like the fruity attack of blueberry and cherry followed by an acidic pucker, cracked pepper, moving into a dark chocolaty finish. Nice wine.
