December 1, 2016 - Immediately expressive upon uncorking. Looks older, smells older... a great start. Aromas display currants, driftwood, and leather with more barnyard coming out with aeration; a classy array of nut highlights (walnut, almond and chestnut) give depth and complexity. Dry and maturing with a balancing, sweet ripeness to the fruit on the palate, the only reminder that this is a New World wine. Good, toasted nut and currant finish. A proper Cabernet, at a proper age.
