December 4, 2016 - I was a bit disappointed in this. Red fruits and somewhat simple. Seemed a little ripe and alcoholic. I've had a cold for a couple days, so it could just be me or maybe I hit this too early?

12/4/16, 6:52 AM - Jeff, with the usual caveats for bottle variation, I don't think you hit this one too early. I had a bottle back in August that I thought was ready to drink, and definitely on the riper/less acidic side for Chianti. I got more black fruits than you apparently did from your bottle, but in any event, I don't think this vintage is going to be a long distance runner.

12/4/16, 10:12 AM - Bob, I wrestled with opening this or an 06 Rancia based on your recent notes. We were with people who typically drink CA wines so I thought this one might be more friendly. I should stick with beer until I kick this cold as none of the recent bottles I have opened have been very enjoyable.
