  November 3, 2016 - Blind tasting of wines from Northern Rhône. The wine’s bouquet is dominated by rather distinct aromas of black cherries, blackcurrants, leather, blonde tobacco, licorice and cloves. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, medium-strong acidity and a velvety-smooth mouthfeel with ripe tannins. Flavors of lush cherries, leather, licorice with notes of stewed fruits, pepper and a little graphite on the palate. Long-lasting aftertaste. During the tasting the wine got a little too warm, causing the wine to appear somewhat square and diffuse. Could be, why the wine seemed to be lacking inner tension and freshness. Aside from than that, though, my notes on this wine seem to remain consistent.
  
  Blindverkostung Nördliche Rhône. In der Nase ausgeprägte Aromen von Schwarzkirschen, Cassis, Leder, blondem Tabak, Süßholz und Nelke. Im Mund samtige, reife Tannine, mittelkräftige+ Säure und einem mittleren bis kräftigen Körper. Der Wein darf nicht allzu warm werden, da er zunehmend breiter wirkt. Am Gaumen satte Kirschen, Leder, Lakritz, Noten von gekochten Früchten und Pfeffer. Langer Abgang. Dem Wein fehlt es etwas an Spannung und Spritzigkeit. Deckt sich größtenteils mit früheren Eindrücken.
